November 5, 2018 would have been Charles Bradley’s 70th birthday. In celebration of his extraordinary life, Daptone imprint Dunham Records will release his fourth and final album on November 9. Black Velvet will feature ten studio recordings never before included on any album.
Black Velvet is a celebration of Charles Bradley, lovingly assembled by his friends and family at Dunham/Daptone Records. Though chronologically the material spans Charles' entire career, this is no anthology, greatest hits or other shallow rehashing of the songs that already made him famous. Rather, this album is a profound exploration through the less-travelled corners of the soulful universe that Charles and his longtime producer, co-writer and friend Tommy "TNT" Brenneck created in the studio together over their decade-long partnership.
The first song and music video below is for his song titled I Feel A Change from the Black Velvet album. The video was done by Jeff Broadway and Cory Bailey.
Charles Bradley - I Feel a Change
The next music video is for the song titled Luv Jones, also off of the upcoming Black Velvet album.
To further celebrate the life and music of Charles Bradley, a number of murals will be painted in numerous cities around the world. The one featured in the Luv Jones music video below was done in Chicago by Joe Miller.
Hope Sandoval, who is the ethereal voice of Mazzy Star, a band with a level of mystique that few others have ever reached, also has her own solo projects. Just like with Mazzy Star, Sandoval exudes mystique, touts no frantic social media activies and one is basically left to find it on their own or not hear or see it.
The Indies is proud to present the music video by Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions for her song titled Isn't It True. Enjoy!

The Indies Music TV is pleased to present Matthew Logan Vasquez and the music video to his song titled Everything We Do Is Out from his EP titled Austin.
Cary Morin is a Native American blues artist based in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is a all around tasty singer, songwriter and recording artist with a unique fingerstyle guitar sound and a distinctive singing voice that sets him apart.
He has earned many accolades, his most recent in March 2018, when his album titled Cradle To The Grave won the 2018 Independent Music Awards catagory for Best Blues Album.
The Indies is proud to present the beautifully shot music video for the title track to Cary Morin's album, directed by Blake Miller of CSI Films and filmed in the Northern Colorado Redfeather Lakes Region. Enjoy!
The album was recorded by Rich Werdes at Studio Underground in Ft. Collins, Colorado and was mixed and mastered by James Tuttle of Subtle Sound in Boulder, Colorado.

The Indies is pleased to present a fine up and coming songwriter, performer and recording artist named Janelle Loes.
In this first performance below, she plays guitar and sings her own original song titled Stranger with her angelic voice. It was recorded and filmed live at 3 Leaf Recording Studio.
Janelle Loes - Stranger
This next music video below is a cover of the classic song titled Always On My Mind written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James that was made very famous by Elvis Presley, followed by many other greats.
Jess Bishop is a songwriter, singer and guitarist from Brighton, England.
Even though this is a rough/raw and under-produced recording, shot by a single camera on a tripod with no operator, the beauty of the music written by this artist and the musical spell she can cast is apparent and transcends any lack of production.
Jess Bishop wrote this song and she is accompanied by Max Rafferty (formerly of The Kooks) on guitar. It was filmed in Port Isaac, a fishing village in Cornwall, England.
The Indies is pleased to present Austin Brown and the music video to his song titled Smile, which is track #7 from his album titled Canyon Sessions. The music video was directed by Pierre Rabagny.

Lyrics for Genevieve Artadi's song: Nowhere to Go
get out of my brain you've got to leave me alone, stop this echo
let me have the way it was before you came and cast your shadow
get out of my way you've got me seeing nothing, cycling, falling
shrinking into something i don’t wanna be i’m nowhere with nowhere to go
nowhere to go
nowhere to go
nowhere to go
get out of my head you’ve got to let me let go, let me let be
let me have the way it was before you came and cast your shadow
get out of my way u’ve got me seeing nothing, cycling, falling
shrinking into something i don’t wanna be i’m nowhere with nowhere to go
nowhere to go
nowhere to go
nowhere to go

The Indies is proud to present, Elise Trouw, a inspired emerging 18 year old drummer who has a lovely voice, with additional skills as an arranger, one girl band as a looper, multi-instrumentalist and technical/gear geek who proudly to offers up lists of what electronics and gear she used to make her recordings.
Nonchalant or laid back best describes her style. Her music is never rushed and maintains a certain stillness to it, such as in her most recent viral music video of a mashup of a FooFighters song titled Everlong meets Bobby Caldwell's song titled What You Won't Do, (listen/view here at TheQuietStorm.Com). That smooth groove mashup recording she made may just be what landed her debut network television appearance and two song performance on ABC-TV's Jimmy Kimmel Live on January 30th, 2018.
Outside of the viral cover song mashup referenced above, she is a very good original songwriter who musters up talented people to help her make well done audio recordings, music videos and filmed live performances.
The two videos featured below are different versions of the same song titled Awake. Awake is track #10 on her independent debut album titled Unraveling.
It is a tossup between which version is The-Indies favorite, so a flip of a quarter picked the minimalist piano/voice version first and the studio version of Awake and it's conceptual music video next. Enjoy!
