There are a few rare kids in the world who wake up and realize music is a career path, and they figure out a way get to work and make it happen.

The Indies is very pleased to present one such an artist from Brooklyn, New York, known as Belle Blue. Her most recent three songs were recorded when she was 14 or 15 years old, and at the time of this writing, it's possible that she might be 16 years old by now.

In her most recent song titled Jack, released on January 29, 2026, she cops a very laid back 90's Seattle grunge sound and maintains a cool demeanor in the video, as compared to her earlier pop driven rock songs where she exudes a little more edgy drama and fun in the vibe, such as Follow Me Down, released May 22, 2025 and woof, released on February 27, 2025.

Belle Blue has proven versatility, self awareness and control of self. Wishing Belle Blue continued success, peace of mind and happiness in her ongoing pursuit as a recording artist of substance. Stay cool and keep it real.

The Velveteers - Limboland (Live From The Rainbow)

The Indies is very pleased to present more from the Denver Colorado rock band known as The Velveteers, consisting of Demi Demitro, Baby Pottersmith & Johnny Fig. Below is a filmed live music video for their song titled Limboland, which may sound to some like a rock & roll indictment of Klaus Schwab's ideas that "you will eat zee bugs", "you will own nothing and like it" and his Orwellian fantasties laid out in The Great Reset. But since the band does not name names, listeners will have to connect the dots on their own as to what they imagine is the bands intent.

Limboland is track #12 from their twelve song album titled Nightmare Daydream. The music video was filmed by Jackilyn Cooper, Ozzie and VV Hoven. The Velveteers are signed to indie label, Easy Eye Sound, founded by The Black Keys guitarist & vocalist, Dan Auerbach.

The music was recorded, produced and mastered by Jose Ibanez at 3rd Planet Recording Studio in Liverpool, England. The music videos were directed by Dan Hewiston of Freakbeat Films.

Rebecca Lou - No Surrender (Music Video)

TheIndies.Com presents rock vocalist Rebecca Lou and her music video to No Surrender

Rebecca Lou Armstrong of Copenhagen, Denmark, is a great hard rock singer who is simply known as Rebecca Lou. She is one of this network's all time favorite emerging indie artists who is destined for something big in our opinion. She has been at it for quite a while, singing in several different mostly very hard rock/metal bands. In 2013 she was featured here on The Indies when she was the lead singer of a stellar band known as Stella Blackrose.

We have heard her sing in a few different situations/bands/acts and she can take a lame band or song, a bad situation or wrong kind of production and squeeze a great sound out of it the second she starts singing. She treats all music situations we've heard like that old saying... If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That makes her a real pro.

The thing that is inspiring about her is that she is not trying to fit into other people's mold of what they think she should be. She is comfortable in her own skin and exudes an authenticism and confidence that is rare. Years ago, I wrote her a note encouraging her to stay away from pop music, which she had been experimenting with for a pop idol show in Europe. I wrote to her and stated that rock stars have contempt and pop stars don't, and that I thought she should stick to rock. I felt like she was a rock star in the making up to that moment and going down the pop road, she would throw it all away. She wrote back to basically say "I am what I am" and that she was "having fun". Her response left me with much more respect for her than I already had.

Hearing her most recent original solo material gives us hope that she might very well emerge as a very successful real rock icon, hopefully like a modern day Joan Jett meets Ann Wilson of Heart. Rebecca Lou has a lot of passion, always has a strong delivery and as she appropriately titled this song, she has no surrender in mind. Turn it up and give her some love!

Stella Blackrose - Rebecca Lou Armstrong (Music Videos)

Stella Blackrose is one of those names like Led Zeppelin or Jethro Tull, for there is no person known as Stella Blackrose, just a solidly badass band. From Denmark, the group is fronted by a powerful lead vocalist named Rebecca Lou Armstrong.

I first wrote about the band several years back when they had self recorded some excellent raw tracks in their rehearsal studio with something like two mics. I loved those tracks very much because the pure intensity shined through the basic recordings in a way that I just knew this band has some powerful mojo.

The band searched for and found a producer, but in my opinion, ended up with some over produced tracks that lost that edge compared to when they were making recordings on their own. Oh well, it's happened to the best of 'em.

The songs and music videos below are fantastic, but happen to be part of the overly produced/slick batch of recordings referenced above. My gut is it would be great if the band re-released their basement tapes and strove to make other more raw recordings like them. The pure raw intensity of the group shined bright on those early self made demos. The band has that killer sound live. Bottled lighting! A real rock band!

Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps - She's Got A Way With Men

Teresa James is one of those artists who has a few songs that might remind you of Bonnie Raitt, except Bonnie Raitt comes to see Teresa play, leaving one to wonder who reminds who of who. The song featured below is not one of those, however. Instead, it has a style like it stepped out of the Motown era, beautifully!

A true indie, Teresa has that "it" thing in a real traditional and classic rock, blues and R&B sort of way and her band always nails it when playing live :) And, as far as her records are concerned, she only uses real players down to the last horn. Teresa James and her band known as The Rhythm Trams are the real deal for sure.
